Queen Afua is a nationally renowned herbalist, certified holistic health specialist who practices from a uniquely Afrocentric spiritual perspective. She is a Certified Colon Therapist, Polarity Practitioner, Hatha Yoga and Ari Ankh Ka Instructor, Lay Midwife, and Fasting Specialist. She has taught wholistic health care at prestigious institutions such as NYC Downstate Medical Center and Long Island University Medical Center.
Queen Afua is also a lecturer and New York Times best selling Author "Sacred Woman: A guide to healing the Feminine Body, Mind and Spirit", "Heal Thyself for Health and Longevity", and her most recent "The City of Wellness: Restoring your health through the Seven Kitchens of Consciousness". These books have been successful because they address issues that are current to the health crisis facing African American women. Thus many women have been transformed and have changed the way they look at wholistic healthcare, ancestral healing, physical and emotional healing. What precedes Queen Afua's work and her City of Wellness movement is done due to the publication of her books, which have received national and international acclaim.
Ali Torain is an active alumnus from Howard University. While at Howard. Ali became the president of Ubiquity Incorporated, the oldest Afro-centric brother/sisterhood on campus. Ali organized some of the largest and most successful programs in the organization's history. As an entrepreneur, Ali has done much for his community through his summer youth program: "Youth Teaching Youth: The Principles of Being a Successful Person". Ali is also an expert Chef. In 2003, he established his own catering company. At his first event, he prepared food for over seventy five people, inclusive of celebrities, such as India Arie, Erykah Badu, and Common. Ali is the Vice President of the Q.A.W.I. as well as the Mayor of The City of Wellness
